About Me

Hi, my name is Lesley, I am a wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, artist, writer, and avid hiker.  My goal is to live my life, authentically me.

I was born and raised in Hawaii on the island of Oahu.  I am a mix of Hawaiian, Chinese, Russian and Norwegian blood.  Though I was raised by the beach, my heart is for the mountains.  I love the wind through the trees and the eery silence at high altitudes.  Put me by a river and I can sit all day.

I always prided myself in being a busy super mom, while working full time, and doing tons of volunteer work on the side.  But all that changed when I was diagnosed with breast cancer the day before Thanksgiving in 2012.

My life was then turned upside down.

(you can read my cancer timeline here)

Who I thought I was, was no longer who I saw in the mirror.  I realized,  I lost her in the midst of work, kids activities, parties, socializing,  ministry, service, non profit work and doing, doing, doing.

The past few years have been of re-creation, discovery and learning how to truly follow my bliss, while living and thriving with stage IV metastatic breast cancer.

Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors for you where there were only walls.  ~Joseph Campbell

It has been freeing, stretching, liberating and sometimes downright painful.

I have had several awakenings and spiritual shifts along the way.

As I have been unearthing my authentic self, I have found my clarity has come through engagement.  And things that I thought I was passionate about, I am not.  I did it, because unconsciously I thought that was what I was supposed (conditioned)  to do.

I have learned how to follow my intuition, and live a life of abundance  and intention through the practice of  gratitude, self awareness, stillness, and adventure.

This is my story.  This is my life.
